License 11d compatable to new version of backup exec

I have windows 2003 server with Backup exec 11d installed. Now we have purchased a new Dell R630 Server, installed Windows 2008r2.
Since 11d is not compatable with windows 2008 r2 OS, a new version need to install.
Can the same License keys can be used for new versions?
What is the validity or time frame for a License?
Can the same License keys can be upgrade to new version?

We have the same issue here with verion 8.
Funny thing seems that we cant install manually on Dell laptops, like M388 and Latitude 7250 but works on Lenovo machines...
We use SCCM to distribute win 7 ent. 64 bit.
Users are local admin and UAC are disabled...
Attached is a log file from a failed installation on a brand new Dell.

How to list files backed up by jobid
I need a solution
I know you can use bplist to list files backed up by date, but can you do this by jobid. So I guess you can look at job start time and end time and then use bplist, but this involves an extra step and won't work if you have 2 jobs for the same client running at the same time. So for instance, I hace added a new client to NBU with 2 policies - O/S policy and FS policy and I kicked both off at the same time, so am I able to list files for each job, so that I can verify I have not duplicated or missed any files.

The differential and incremental backup of Hyper-V 2012 R2 VM replica is not working
I do not need a solution (just sharing information)
The full backup of Hyper-V 2012 R2 VM replica is working fine, but the differential and incremental backup of Hyper-V 2012 R2 VM replica is not working and it will fall back to a full backup instead.
The job has a exception as below:
A Full backup was run on this virtual machine, since the option to fall back to a full backup was selected. Incremental\\Differential backup methods are not supported for this virtual machine.
I am wondering whether it is not supported?..

DLO 8.0 Configure IO

All the ports are opened and the firewall is turned off. The IP is local. I've check the DLO manual and nothing. Any ideea ?

Failure backing up to NAS
I need a solution
Am running Backup Exec 2012 (SP4 + hotfix 217347) small business edition on Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard.
When attempting a full SDR backup to a 3TB HDD on a LS220D480 NAS it is getting to about 16.2GB and apparently whilst still working on the exchange information store mailbox database. It then just starts creating two 2KB files every minute whilst the backup rate dwindles down to nothing and just seems to hang there until I cancel the backup. However:
a) if I run the same backup to tape or to a 1TB USB HDD (as opposed to the NAS HDD) it completes succesfuly,
b) If I run the same backup but exclude the Microsoft Information Store to the same NAS HDD it completes succesfully,
c) If I run the same backup to the same NAS HDD, including the Microsoft Information Store but without enabling the GRT option it still fails.
I've tried reformatting the NAS HDD but am struggling to make any sense of this. Have seen lots of chatter about 2KB files being created and possible connections to GRT ... but not found any answers for this case .... can't fathom why ok to tape and another drive but not ok to the NAS (until I exclude the information store from the backup).

Hi,
I ran a policy manually and it got triggered. But only five drives were used for the child jobs and the sixth drive was not used. So one child job became in queue saying maximum job count has been reached for the storage unit. No backup was running on that drive.
I checked and found in the storage unit settings the "maximum concurrent write drives" is set to 6.
Also option "Limit jobs per policy" is not ticked in the policy setting.
Please suggest how to proceed so that that drive can be used.

Netbackup single file restore from linux

Hi,
I am experiencing an issue while doing single file restore from Linux VM.
I am using the following:
Netbackup 7.6.0.2 on Windows 2008 server
Backup policy - VMware (enabled file recovery)
What i am trying to do is restore a single file using Backup, Archive and Restore client on my Master server. I know that restore on the linux VM doesn't work if i don't have an agent installed, that is why the destination of the restore is the master server itself.
Nevertheless, my restore is failing momentarily with errors 2820, 2817,2800. The error number depends on the restore policy I am using (VMware, Standard, Flashbackup).

Can anyone help me with this issue?

nbu 7.6 exchange 2013 recovered database corruption
I need a solution
Hi, I'm using netbackup 7.6 on windows 2008R2 and attempting a redirected restore of a Exch 2013 mailbox database to a recovery database.
To complicate things the backup policy is of type vmware for exchange database, and there are two servers in my DAG.
The restore is failing with
MS Exchange Server Policy error [2810]
If I look at the event viewer for the exchange server, it states something along the lines the recovery database fails to be mounted because of a corruption.
It appears the database was in a shutdown dirty state when backed up.
Is there anyway I can attempt a manual recovery of the datbase or determine why the database is said to be corrupted?

Hi Friends,
I want to generate a report which contains the list of those clients whose Backup has overrun the backup window.We currently attempt to complete backups within approved backup windows, so for example if a backup window is 20:00-23:00 on Monday, I’d expect the backup to start and finish within this window, if the backup doesn’t finish until after this window. I want those client in that Backup overrun report. Is this possible. If yes how?

Status of Backups report only shows catalog backup not showing any client backups
I need a solution
Upgraded Backup server from 6.5 to 7.1 and now in Status of Backups under Report is not showing the client backup status.
It only shows the status of the catalog backup for some reason. Before I upgraded everything was working fine.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
