I have an issue where I'm trying to deploy the latest version of DLO to 2 computers from the DLO console. It deployed ok to the first computer but it's doing nothing on the 2nd computer and has been hung for the past 3 hours. Please see attached screenshots. Is it ok to end this in Task Manager or will this cause problems for the client or console? Also, if I try to close this window, I get the message in Closing window.jpg. Clicking Ok just brings you back to the Executing Remote Installation window

We have suggessfully upgraded one of Solaris Master Server from NB 7.0.1 to NB 220.127.116.11 last week.
Now we need to upgrade our 2 AIX media servers from 7.0.1 to 18.104.22.168 .
For master server upgrade, we have taken precautionary steps like ( Running NBCC , Taking snapshot of /usr/openv/ , Taking catalog backup, Copying DR file, Deactivating policies...)
Is there any pre steps that we have to taken before upgrading our 2 AIX media servers ?
Is NB 22.214.171.124 Media server upgrade is just similar to Master server 126.96.36.199 upgrade?
I got 2820 error when trying to restore the VM image backup of virtual server with physically attached USB device (special token card).

Another virtual machines without USB connected devices are restored without errors.
I try restore with different options but with the same result. So options "keep hardware version", "remove backing information for devices like cd/dvd ...", "remove network inf.." and restoring to another datastore and esx were probed without success.
We work in NBU 188.8.131.52 and vmware vSphere 5.5 environment
Please help to solve this problem.
I have one OS running Suse linux 11 and i want to install netbackup client 7.0 version, can i know the OS can support the software version?
Background: I have a RHEL 6.6 Master server running 184.108.40.206. I have a dedicated Windows BMR server (Win 2k8 R2) that I use to create bootable ISOs. Generally speaking, I create the BMR job to a specific point in time (as opposed to using 'current'). I was able to find the commands I need to run on the Master to create the new Point in Time configs and prepare to restore so I could automate this process.
Challenge: I would like to be able to create bootable ISO images (as via using the bmrbsa.exe utility) but from the command line (or via a script) to automate the process. I cannot seem to find the right logs as I did with the config and prepare to restore. Does anyone have any tips on logging to try or bmrsrtadm.exe command line usage?
I am looking to extract the nbudeployutil -capacity as a sql statement so this can be tracked automatically by an external application.
The key data is the Calculated Capacity Totals by Master Server and Capacity by Policy type.
Can it be done?

We are facing a strange issue, we have a backup appliance 5220 @ NB7.6. We are configured a DB backup using oracle intelligent policy and we are used dedupe pool as destination. Backups are success, but when we try to restore DB datafiles it fails. But we are able to restore SP file and control file. And if we use advanced disk or tape for backup the restore is success with datafiles. Wea re facing issues only when we use dedupe pool (pure disk).
IF we use dedupe pool in inelligent backup policy, I Could see it swicthes to RMAN non snapshot proxy backup. See the logs below.

Please help on this issue.
I have installed a Windows Server 2012 R2 and Symantec Backup Exec 2014.
For testing backup-to-disk i configured a local Disk and it works fine. But if i wants to configure a second b-to-d drive i allway get the error "the path seems to be invalid. Please test the server- and sharename."
In Windows-Explorer i can connect the drive and i can read and write on this disk.
Another server (windows Server 2008 R2 with Symantec Backup Exec 2012) the configuration of the same b-to-d disk path works without any problems.
Where is the mistake? The adjustments of the Symantec Backup Exec 2012 und -2014 are almost identical.
and a second question:
it is possible to make full backups to library and inkremental packups to disk?
Greetings from Gerhard001
I am little bit confused regarding the ejection of media on tape-library..
1. what is the command used on solaris operating system
2. what is the operation used to eject media from the tape library
Please help me regarding this please ,
I am preparing to upgrade my environment from 220.127.116.11 to 18.104.22.168. I have never run SORT before and I am sure it is very straight forward, but just to be safe I wanted to check here to make sure that there are no gotcha's to be concerned about.
I have one master that is running Solaris 10 and another that is running Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.7. The Solaris one is my primary environment while the Linux one is the DR environment that I replicate to. I also have quite a few media servers with varying OS's to include the previously mentioned ones as well as Windows.
Basically I just wanted to ensure that nothing in the script will cause any issues and how exactly I should be running the script. Just copy it to /tmp and run it? Does it need to be run on just the master or all master and media servers? Does it need to be run on the OpsCenter server?
Sorry if all of this has been mentioned before, but I was having trouble finding and all encompassing thread related to SORT. I'd just rather be safe than sorry.
Also after I complete the SORT process I was curious if its ok to upgrade my DR environment and let that cook for a week or so before doing my primary environment or if there would be an issue trying to replicate between the primary and DR environments if one is still 22.214.171.124 while the other is upgraded to 126.96.36.199?
'-1018 There is a checksum error on a database page. ' (Exchange Server 2010 SP3, UR10)
I am currently running Opscenter 188.8.131.52 under windows 2003 sp2 standard edition, wich if course it´s 32 bits, and now facing the migration to 7.6, I am rebuilding some servers, and this one is among them.
As far as I understand, the correct migration sequence would be to upgrade first opscenter, them master, and then media.
I am building a 2012 windows server, but would like to keep all the data and queries I have in my old server.
Do I need to do a backup and then restore some folders, just copy paste, or am I doomed and have to recreate averything manually?
Thanks in advance.
Our platform: Windows Server 2012 R2
Our setup. Physical Hyper1 (Symantec hosted on) & Virtual DC Server, which is our domain controller and stores our shared drives
Package: Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2: V 184.108.40.206477
We are having a very strange problem, which has only been noticed recently.
Each night we have a scheduled backup that backups all our data to a NASDrive in another building. I get email notifications everyday that tells me the backup has been succesful. Recently one of our staff had deleted a file by accident and we needed to retrieve it. When I mounted the drive I noticed all the data was from 3months ago. All our recent folders and files weren't in there. I dismounted it and checked all the other recovery points for the last 2 weeks and every single one was indentical showing the exact same outdated files/folders. I have also noticed that instead of a green tick beside the recovery points it's a blue question mark and the status is set to 'unavailable'. I've tried updating SSR and have restarted the server to see if that may resolve the problem. I have looked extensivley online and on the forums here, but no one seems to have had a similar problem so not sure where to start.
(On a side note, which could may have been the cause in the first place or just a coincdence. 3 months ago when we were doing a restart of the server it froze and was not responsive, which meant we had to forcefully shut it down. When I looked the otherday at our servers runtime, it was 84days. When I counted the days back to when the server would have been restarted. The file within the recovery point seemed to be the day before the restart)
(I've attached some screenshots. You can see the date modified on the Virtual Hard Disk is 12/08/2015, however the vhdx file within is showing 18/05/2015)
I am new to Hyper-V. I installed a Windows 2012R2 Hyper V Host and have one Windows 2012R2 Hyper V guest server running.
My goal is wanting to daily full backups of our Hyper V guest server (no GRT needed).
Should I just install a normal backupexec agent on the Hyper V guest and do backups as I have been with my physical servers?Or is it better to back up using the Hyper V agent provided by BackupExec? Cost is not a concern...but I worry about complexity of these backups.
Can someone tell me the pro/cons of doing a traditional agent backup vs Hyper V host backup?
The backup server is Windows 2008R2 and running BackupExec 15 with all the latest service packs.
Before selling VERITAS ; Symantec was the only company that provided complete security solution in the world with vast portfolio of products in CIAM (Confidentiality - Integrity - Avalability - Management) and we all know security is CIAM and without any of these four there is no security ,now symantec is just like any other security company , its like sophos or mcafee even these companies are trying to enter in Availability and management section of Security.
i think symantec forgot that what is security, dear symantec if you want to focus on security you must have Availability and management solution.
it's so bad for partners & customers and in long run its bad for symantec.
whos gonna run VERITAS ,Carlyle Group? who are they? they work in energy filed?
whats going to happen to this community? whats going to happen to next release of Backup Exec? Netbackup? VSF?
Hello, I need your help
The Image below shows the error message I get when I try to backup my Exchange 2010 server. I'm currently using the trial version of Backup Exec 15 with all updates installed. When I try to research the final error: 0x299, no valuable information comes up. Can anyone point me in the right direction for overcoming this issue. I'm new to backup exec and have been struggling with backing up the exchange server for a while now.
Feel free to ask any questions. Thank you in advance.
I have enabled the incoming_patches share on the NetBackup 5230 appliance, but I cannot open it. I am unable to authenticate, even though I know that I am entering the correct username and password. What is the domain that should be supplied in the login credentials if ldap authentication is not enabled on the appliance?
