I need a solution

Having an issue trying to add vcenter 6.0 server to Backup Exec 15.  When tring to add the server, an error pops up about communication failer and the Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows on BE 15 server stops.

If the Application logs I get 2 errors Event ID 1000 and 259.  Google searching, I found a post simular where it was suggested to replace libcurl.dll file from BE 15 with the file from BE 2014.  How ever I am still not able to add vcenter server to BE15.  Currently all backups a runninng via the local agent installed in all VM's

Vcenter server has the latest BE agent installed and vmtools installed.

I created a test server with BE2014 and was able to add vcenter server to it and was success in runnin a backup.

I had a problem.

status = 2: none of the requested files were backed up

after the resolution of the problem as follows:

I found a new problem, the policy ms-sql server does not start automatically, even if there is no back up in court

but if I execute manually works.

I use Windows server 2012 standard. and symantec netbackup 7.6

I need a solution

I have a customer who due to an unfortunate placement of the server had their server plunge 6 feet onto a hard floor.

Surprisingly the OS drives survived but the Data raid did not, nor various other components.

I've ordered them in a replacement server & have now spent almost the entire day trying various System Recovery CD's & methods to get them up & running on their new hardware.

Their old server was a HP ML150G6 & their new server is a Lenovo ThinkServer TD340 with a Think Server Raid 500 Adapter II.

I've tried using the System Recovery 2011 & 2013 disc's & a wide range of options to restore the system.

My last attempt was to remove all the partitions & then first restore the System reserved partition with Active Boot, disk signature & MBR. Then without restarting I restored the OS Partition (C) without any extra options except for resize the partition. I even disabled the hidden checkmarks (Delete & prompt for drivers & the mini setup).

Almost every boot afterwards is the same, it boots to the Windows repair option & won't let me fix the problem.

I've been looking at this far too long & unforunately without data my customer is dead in the water & I've promised them I would be there in about 14 hours from now to install their new restored server. So any help you can provide would be really appreciated.

I need a solution

I have a Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition SP2 installed with SSR2013 and it was running fine. After upgrade to SSR2013 R2, the backup fails. I tried uninstall and reinstall but still the same error message. Appreciate any help.

I need a solution

Our backup jobs start running but then after a while they stop.
The monitor says they are still running but the byte counter stops incrementing and the transfer rate slowly decreases.

All services are running on the servers that are to be backed up.

There are no error messages or alerts.

The current job backed up 2GB in 11 minutes but has now been running for over an hour and it is still showing 2GB.

Anyone got any ideas?

We are running 2010 R2.
This has been running OK for the last year or so but for the last week several jobs have stalled.

Guys, is there any way in the console to view all backups from all policies that have been assigned to a given client? I know I can use the 'Back,Archive and Restore' button but then I have to select the client, select the policy etc. is there a way to see all backups from all policies assigned to a given client?

Hi All,

I am upgrading Netbackup Solaris clients, as i have only 512 Mb space in most of the servers, which cannot be expanded further.

So i downloaded software in client and chnage below parameter in ./install script

TMPDIR=${TMPDIR:=/tmp} to TMPDIR=${TMPDIR:=/var/tmp}

It worked for me to successfully install client.

However i cant copy that software in each client due to its size hence : 

Is this software can be copied to Solrias client from master server for local installation on client.

instead of downloading complete client package -->NetBackup_7.6.0.1_CLIENTS1, can i just copy below file on Solairs clients.

[root@xxxxxx save]# ls -ltrh

My question is whether or not this is the latest and greatest? Are there other permissions that have been proven to be useful to have? We periodically seem to hit some kind of reset button where SAN method restores work for awhile and then stop working. We do our backups via the SAN method which work fine so its odd that we have issues now and again with the restores over SAN. I want to ensure I have the best practices in place for vmware backups and restores.

Finally got my appliances both upgraded to 2.6.1.1  -- but I'm getting myself all confused about where I find the client packages, so they can be downloaded from the WebGui login screen.

Can someone just point me in the right direction?

Our reseller said that we need the deduplication license if we use a basic disk on externale appliance that offer deduplication.

Nothing about that in the license agreement of NetBackup, but it seem to be writen in his sales tools.

What is the reality?

I need a solution

So one of the benefits of 15 Feature Pack 1 as advertised was up to 62% shorter backups with LTO tape drives.  having updated to FP1, my backup times remain the same.

Without going into the specifics of the systems, I updated all the agents etc to the latest version, are there other tricks that need to be done to increase the speed?  We are backing up directly to tape, with real servers, not virtual.

Does this speed increase just impact virtual servers?

Hi i migrating data from Data domain to tape. Tape storage unit have 3 drives and i am using 1 for vault.

But i am getting error like " Maximum job count has been reached for the storage unit. Please suggest.

Drives are free but still getting error  STU looks good as well.

DLO Message - You have files that need to be protected

Around 20 users getting this message when the DLO agent synchs the files to the server

"YOU HAVE FILES THAT NEED TO BE PROTECTED"

Does anyone have any ideas what causes it and how to fix it cause the backup files not transfer to DLO Server

I need a solution

I'm running BE 2012  on Windows 2011 SBS to backup up itself and two Hyper-V VMs.  When I go to "Test/Edit Credentials", I see all of the drives, Hyper-V, System State and SQL Server Instance.  Fine, but I also see two other drives that do not exist.  Those two drives do not appear in the Resource listing, just the Test/Edit Credentials listing, and obviously fail every credential test.  (Needless to say, they don't appear in Disk Management either.)

What is the best way to delete these two phantom entries?
