Migrate BE 2010 R3 to NetBackup

I am migrating from backup exec 2010 r3 to netbackup.
Are there any migration articles? I see lots of articles for upgrading from 2010 to 2012. I need to know if I have to remove the backup exec client or if I can install both clients side by side in case the netbackup has problems.

Any major differences between the 2 would also be helpful.
