NBU 5230 appliance questions

Hi, I am setting up NBU 5230 appliance and have a few questions.

1) Can the appliance join to domain (active directory)? If yes, how to do it? I have setup the appliance as media server but it seems not join to domain and I still need to manage it via host file.

2) Does the appliance require any performance fine tuning? Are there any parameters or files we can modify in the appliance?

3) I tried to setup SMTP settings. Is there a way to send test email? Are there any special requirements for smtp to work for the appliance?

I tried to read the guides for the appliance but was unable to find the answers. Thanks in advance.
